Maryland Deviled Imperial Crab

American.Kitchen's picture
Maryland Deviled Imperial Crab is a creamy crab recipe. Cooked with cream sauce and brandied, the maryland deviled imperial crab is spiced with mustard. Baked in the oven and broiled for a browned top, this is a great seafood recipe.
Ingredients
  Butter 4 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Green pepper 1 , chopped
  Brandy 2 Tablespoon
Cream sauce 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Onion 1 Small, minced
  Prepared mustard 1 Tablespoon
  Fine bread crumbs 2 Tablespoon
  Dry mustard 1 Tablespoon
  Crab meat 1 Pound
Directions

Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a saucepan, add the green pepper and onion, and cook over a low heat, stirring often, for 10 minutes.
Stir in the 2 mustards, salt, brandy, Cream Sauce, and 1 tablespoon of the bread crumbs.
Then add the crab meat.
Heat only for a few minutes, stirring gently and taking care not to break up the crab flakes.
Spoon into 6 individual baking shells or into a small baking dish that can go to the table.
Sprinkle on remaining bread crumbs and dot with remaining butter.
Bake in a preheated 400° oven (shells will take about 10 minutes, the baking dish about 25 minutes).
Slide under the broiler for a few minutes to brown the tops.
