Creole Okra

Creole Okra is a mouth watering dish which you would surely want to get your guest's attention. I bet, serve this Creole Okra and the taste would be just heavenly!
Ingredients
  Butter/Bacon drippings 2 Tablespoon
  Minced onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Minced green pepper 3 Tablespoon
  Sliced okra 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Canned tomatoes/Fresh tomatoes 2 Cup (32 tbs), peeled and chopped
  Basil 1 Pinch
  Ground black pepper To Taste
  Salt To Taste
Directions

1. Heat the butter, add the onion and green pepper and cook until soft but not brown.
2. Add the okra and saute over moderate heat about five minutes, stirring constantly.
3. Reduce the heat, add the remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, about twenty minutes. Add a small amount of water if necessary to prevent scorching and give a moist consistency.
