America's Favorite Cookie Oreo made better at home - Egg Free Whoopie Pie Cookie

These homemade oreo cookies are more like a Whoopie pie cookies.
These homemade mouth melting cookies will burst your taste bud like anything. More chocolaty than ever...even the filling is made with chocolate.

Ingredients

Flour 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Cocoa powder 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Baking soda 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt 1 Pinch
Baking powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , softened
Sugar 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Melted dark chocolate 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
For filling
Melted white chocolate 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Butter 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , softened
Powdered sugar 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.

MAKING

In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt and baking powder. Set aside.

Using a stand mixer, beat together butter, sugar and vanilla, until creamy.

Add in the melted dark chocolate and mix well.

Stir in the flour mixture, but dont over mix.

Using an ice cream scoop, place the mixture over the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 12 minutes.

Take out the cookies and place over the cooling rack to cool.

Meanwhile, prepare the filling in a bowl, stir together all the ingredients.

Spread some of the filling over one of the cookies and top with another cookie. Repeat the process with the rest of the ingredients.

SERVING

Serve the cookies to your kids with milk.

NOTES

To make these cookies little soft cakey, add 2 tbsp of yogurt or 1 tbsp sour cream to this same recipe.
