Slivered Almonds In Honey
|Saffron threads||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Rose water||1 Tablespoon|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Honey||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Slivered almonds||8 Ounce|
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Finely chopped pistachios||2 Tablespoon|
Dissolve saffron in rose water.
Bring 1/4 cup water and sugar to a rolling boil in heavy shallow saucepan.
Boil for 7 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add honey and almonds.
Cook for 5 to 6 minutes or until golden brown and almonds begin to brown.
Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Stir in the rose water and saffron mixture.
Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Drop by teaspoonfuls 1 inch apart onto parchment-lined trays.
Sprinkle immediately with chopped pistachios.
Cool for 20 minutes.
Store in airtight container.
