Orange Almond Cookies

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 250 Gram (1 Cup Plus 2 Tablespoon)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 250 Gram (1 Cup Plus 2 Tablespoon)
  Eggs 2
  All-purpose flour 325 Gram (Generous 2 Cups)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Grated orange peel 1⁄4 Tablespoon (Peel Of 1 Large Or 2 Small Oranges)
  Almonds 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), chopped
Directions

Cream butter or margarine and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Sift flour and baking powder with salt; stir a spoonful at a time into creamed mixture.
Add orange peel and almonds; mix thoroughly to make a dough.
Shape dough into a roll 2-1/2 inches (6 cm) wide at each end.
Wrap in foil or plastic wrap.
Refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
Grease baking sheets.
Cut thin slices from roll of cookie dough; place slices on greased baking sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown around the edges.
Cool cookies slightly on sheets then transfer to racks to cool completely.
