Apple Cider Baked Bacon
|Back bacon||2 Pound (In One Piece)|
|Water||2 Cup (32 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed To Cover)|
|Apple cider||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Ground cloves||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Brown sugar||4 Tablespoon|
|Dry mustard||14 Teaspoon|
Simmer back bacon in water for one hour.
Drain and place in an open, heatproof dish.
Pour on cider.
Sprinkle with cloves.
Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes, basting 4-5 times.
To finish off, use either of the following methods. (A)
Combine brown sugar, mustard, cornstarch, and vinegar.
Spread on bacon.
Bake 15 minutes more.
Grill if necessary to form crust.
(B) Spread with honey instead of the above mixture and bake 15 minutes, grilling if necessary.
Remove from the dish, cut neatly into 1/4" slices, and arrange around the scrambled eggs on a preheated platter.
