Hot Mulled Apple Cider With Pears

Ingredients
  Pasteurized apple cider 1⁄2 Gallon
  Cinammon sticks 20 Gram (2)
  Allspice berries 1 Teaspoon (6-7)
  Nutmeg 1 Dash, grated
  Vanilla extract 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Star anise 1 Medium
  Pear 1 , roughly chopped (Bartlett pear)
Directions

MAKING
1. In a saucepan, put together cider, cinnamon, allspice berries, nutmeg, vanilla extract, star anise and pears.
2. Stir the cider mixture and heat over medium heat and bring it to a boil.
3. As the cider mixture boils, put the lid on and simmer for 30 minutes.
4. After 30 minutes remove the lid and allow the cider to cool.

SERVING
5. Strain the cider and serve as desired.
