Cheddar And Cider Fondue
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm)|
|Butter||1 Teaspoon (Leveled)|
|Cider||300 Milliliter (Dry / Medium)|
|Mild cheddar cheese||450 Gram, grated|
Rub the cut clove of garlic around base and sides of a medium sized saucepan, and then lightly butter the pan.
Reserve 2 tablespoons of the cider, and pour the rest into prepared saucepan.
Heat cider gently until it just begins to steam.
Add cheese, about a tablespoon at a time, stirring in each addition until it melts before adding the next.
Blend cornflour with the 2 tablespoons cider, and stir into cheese mixture.
Season to taste, remembering that cayenne is very hot.
Stir over heat for a further few minutes until mixture is almost boiling, then turn into fondue dish and place over gentle heat.
Serve with squares of toast or bread for dipping.
