In a 3-quart casserole or bowl, combine the cider and maple syrup.
Stick two cloves into each lemon slice.
Add the lemon slices and cinnamon sticks to the cider.
Microwave on high for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cider comes to a boil.
Remove and discard the lemon slices.
Pour the liquid into six warmed cups.
Add one of the cinnamon sticks to each cup.
