Cider Wassail Bowl

Ingredients
  Light corn syrup 3 Tablespoon
  Sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Cinnamon 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Red cooking apples/8 lady apples 5 Small
  Apple cider 2 Quart
  Lemon 1 , thinly sliced
  Cinnamon stick 1
  Whole cloves 4
Directions

Heat corn syrup in a small pan; combine 3 tablespoons sugar with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon in a shallow dish.
Roll each apple in hot syrup, then in the sugar; arrange on a baking pan, and bake in a 400° oven until partially cooked, about 15 minutes (apples should not lose their shape).
In a large pan, heat slowly over very low heat to just below boiling point the apple cider, sliced lemon, stick cinnamon, and cloves.
