Nigerian Chin Chin - African Snack
|Vegetable oil||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs) (All Purpose Flour)|
|White sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Ground nutmeg||2 Tablespoon|
Proceed with mixing the flour and the sugar in a big bow if you want them crunchier add 2 tbsp of ground nutmeg in the flour , then rub the butter in until it mixes well with the flour.
Next, crack the eggs into the butter and flour mixture. With your hands, mix it till it forms a dough, at this point I usually add 1 or 2 tbsp of milk.
Next, roll out the dough in a cutting board then use a knife to cut the dough and form some small squares. You can shape the snack in any desired shape (squares, circles, etc… )
To finish, heat the vegetable oil until very hot and fry the cut dough until golden brown or light brown.
Remove them from the heat and place them on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
